Blueval; Six-Day Marathon Fundraiser; Cowford Chop Shop

For the first time in nearly 50 years, Duval County leaped left, voting for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. President Donald Trump comfortably carried the rest of the state, with over 51% of the vote.

Despite Duval - dubbed Blueval - voters supporting a Biden/Harris ticket,down-ballot candidates elected to office were mostly Republican.

Daniel Henry, Chair of theDuval Dems, andAndrew Pantazi of theFlorida Times-Union joined us to discuss the Blueval phenomenon and what comes next for Duval Democrats.

Six-Day Marathon Fundraiser

Michael Freed, a Jacksonville lawyer, is running six consecutive marathons to helpJacksonville Area Legal Aid. The multi-marathon fundraiser kicks off on November 16 at the Tallahassee courthouse and finishes at the Duval County Courthouse on November 21.

He, James Kowalski, the head of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and theHonorable Hugh A. Carithers Jr., spoke with us this morning about thefundraiser.

Cowford Chop Shop

Downtown Jacksonville’sCowford Chophouse is adapting and innovating as the pandemic continues. It recently launched theCowford Chop Shop, a fresh meat program for guests to purchase various high-quality and exclusive meat cuts.
